HIRING NOW: Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educator.

Level 2 Early Childhood Educator

We are looking for a caring, motivated, and knowledgeable Level Two Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the planning and delivery of enriched early learning experiences that promote each child’s holistic development in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. This role involves more responsibility and leadership than Level One, including supporting program planning and mentoring assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate activities and experiences that align with Alberta’s Flight Framework

  • Supervise children to ensure safety, health, and emotional well-being

  • Guide children’s behavior in a positive, supportive manner

  • Support children's routines including meals, hygiene, toileting, dressing and rest time

  • Observe, document, and assess children's development and learning

  • Foster positive communication and relationships with children, parents/guardians, and team members

  • Collaborate with other educators to design curriculum and set up stimulating, clean and organized learning environments

  • Build respectful, responsive relationships with children and their families

  • Communicate effectively with families and staff members

  • Mentor Level One educators as well as volunteers under the age of 18  and contribute to a positive team culture

  • Maintain compliance with Alberta child care regulations and licensing standards

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staff meetings

Qualifications:

  • Alberta Level Two Early Childhood Educator Certificate (formerly Child Development Worker Certification)

  • Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification (or willing to obtain)

  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

  • Clear Child Intervention Wellness Check

  • Strong understanding of child development and early learning best practices

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Physical ability to engage with children at their level and manage daily routines

Assets:

  • Experience working in a licensed early learning or child care setting

  • Familiarity with Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework

  • Knowledge of inclusive and culturally responsive practices

  • Ability to support diverse learners, including children with additional needs

  • Additional certifications or training (e.g., ASQ screening, nutrition, special needs)

Working Conditions:

  • Active supervision and engagement in indoor and outdoor play

  • Flexible scheduling based on program hours (e.g., between 7:30am – 6:00pm)

 Level 3 Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Level Three Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to lead and support high-quality programming in our licensed child care setting. The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of child development and pedagogy, and serve as a leader and mentor within the team. This role includes curriculum leadership, staff guidance, and ensuring alignment with Alberta’s early learning and care regulations and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of enriched, play-based learning experiences rooted in Alberta’s Flight: Early Learning and Care Framework

  • Create inclusive environments that foster children’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive development

  • Provide direct supervision and responsive care to children

  • Support and guide positive child behavior using developmentally appropriate strategies

  • Assess and document children’s growth and learning, and communicate progress with families

  • Mentor and support Level One and Level Two educators through training, collaboration, and modeling best practices

  • Assist with curriculum planning, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement

  • Collaborate with the executive director on policy development, licensing requirements, and day-to-day operations

  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with Alberta licensing and safety regulations

  • Build strong, respectful partnerships with families, co-workers, and community professionals

  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and ongoing learning initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Alberta Level Three Early Childhood Educator Certification (or equivalent)

  • Current First Aid & CPR Level C certification (Or willingness to obtain)

  • Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search

  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, inclusive practices, and emergent curriculum

  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Physical capacity to actively engage with children and manage classroom demands

Assets:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field

  • Knowledge of Flight: Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework

  • Experience in program supervision, curriculum design, or administrative support

  • Familiarity with inclusive practices, trauma-informed care, or special needs supports
